P. G. Kushakov - a doctor as part of the expedition of G. Ya. Sedov to the North Pole, and after the death of Sedov, in fact, the head of the expedition. The book consists of two parts. The first - “two years in ice” - is published in precise accordance with the 1920 publication and is a diary that the author kept on an expedition until December 5, 1912 - the second part - “midday night, midnight sun”, which gave the name of the whole book, -I never published in Russian. The author, being in exile in Switzerland, published it in French in 1946, shortly before death. This is a collection of novels telling about various episodes of life and expedition G. Ya. Sedov and the author’s work on about. Dixon in 1915-1916. N. A. Kuznetsov, historian, leading researcher at the military-historical heritage department of the House of Russian Abroad named after A. Solzhenitsyna, in the preface to this publication, relying on archival materials, described in detail the biography of P. G. Kushakov and his scientific activity both in Russia and in emigration. The publication continues the series of books “For the first time in Russian” published by Paulsen.
