“Notes from the Dead House” were created by F. M. Dostoevsky on the basis of his memoirs about the imprisonment in the Omsk prison in 1850–1854. The sentence for the death penalty for participating in the revolutionary circle, replaced at the last moment at hard labor, staying in shackles along with criminals, close acquaintance with the torment and suffering of people made a revolution in all his work in the writer's soul. The work was highly appreciated by the contemporaries of F. M. Dostoevsky and is still read with non -replacement interest. The writer's deep thoughts, vivid, lively descriptions of hard labor, touching stories about human fate still easily find the path to the heart of readers.
