Turgenev was the first among writers to sing the beauty of rural landscapes and the first in such detail, so brightly, emotionally and diversely described the life and customs of the Russian people. What is not here! Before the narrator, and after him and the reader a whole string of images of rural residents passes, their fate is told, their love stories, their fears, beliefs, bizots - their life in the broadest sense of the word. More than 150 years have passed since the publication of the “notes of the hunter”, serfdom was canceled in Russia, but the features of the Russian character have almost not changed.
