Lidia Alekseevna Charskaya (the real name of Voronova), writer, poetess, was born in 1875 in Tsarskoye Selo, in the family of a military engineer. After some time, Lida's mother died, and her father married a second time. The girl did not work out with the stepmother (she later described this life situation many times in her books). In 1886, Lida was given to the Pavlovsk Institute of noble girls in St. Petersburg. She graduated from the Institute with the medal in 1893. When Lida was eighteen years old, she married officer B. Chermilov. She had a son. But the husband soon left them and left for a new place of service. Lydia graduated from dramatic courses at the Imperial Theater School in St. Petersburg and entered the St. Petersburg Alexandrinsky Imperial Theater, where she performed secondary roles. There was not enough money for life, and she decided to engage in writing. Lydia published in a children's journal under the pseudonym Lydia Char novel Notes of a Little Gymnasium student, where she described her school life. The book was successful, and L. Charskaya became an idol of adolescents. It was strengthened by her glory by the novels “Princess Javaha” (1903), “Second Nina” (1909), “Javakhovskoe nest” (1912). L. Charskaya wrote a lot about abandoned, lost or abducted children “Siberochka” (1908), “Click” (1912), about the life of pupils of closed institutes “Notes of the Institute” (1902), “White Peleri” (1906), “For which ? " (1909), “For Life” (1911), “The goal was achieved” (1911), “Youth of the Voronskaya Lida” (1912), “Gymnasium students”, “Notes of the orphan”, “Breens”, “Magic fairy tale” and others). In total, L. Charkoy has written about 80 works. After the 1917 revolution, the books of L. Charskoy were removed from the libraries as "Boulevard, Meshchansky, vulgar-susceptible." In 1937, she died in poverty.
