This is the first publication of the autobiographical “notes” of a mining engineer, a gold producer and official on special assignments at the Governor-Governor of Eastern Siberia Nikolai Pavlovich Anosov, who headed the search for gold deposits in Eastern Siberia and opened the richest gold placers in the Upper Amur Region in 1866. With this discovery, the rapid development of the golden fishing began, which has become one of the most important factors in the development of the Far East.
the notes compiled in 1880 cover the events from the second half of the 1830s to the 1874. The author illuminates his views on the geological foundations and methodology of the search for gold placers, events and impressions of life in Paris and St. Petersburg, work as part of geological search parties on the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, in the vicinity of Irkutsk and in the Far Eastern taiga.
