Notes of Moscow Vicar. Archbishop Leonid (Krasnopevkov)

Archbishop of Yaroslavl and Rostov Leonid {Krasnopevkov; 1817 - 1876) for more than 15 years was Vicar and the closest assistant to St. Filaret, Metropolitan of Moscow. A comprehensively educated, sensitive to all beautiful and good, Vladyka Leonid has been conducting diaries that have survived to our days and, making up a significant part of his literary heritage, are the chronicle of the church life of Moscow of that era. We consider it useful to introduce readers to the wonderful bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church of the 19th century and its works.
