Ekaterina Romanovna Dashkova (March 17 (28), 1743-4 (16), 1810)-Princess from the famous family of the Vorontsovs, friend and associate of Catherine II and the world's first woman-director of the Imperial Academy of Sciences and Arts (Russian Academy of Sciences).
In her “Notes” she talks about meeting the future Empress Catherine II, full of intrigues of court life and traveling around Europe. Being a contemporary of many iconic historical figures of the middle of the XVIII - early XIX centuries (Grigory Orlov, Denis Didro, Voltaire, etc.), the princess left her memories of them on the pages of this book.
