The textbook was prepared by a team of teachers of the chemical faculty of Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov and contains generalized and recycled information on the topic that causes the greatest difficulties among students in the study and development of the discipline “Organic Chemistry”. A comprehensive analysis of the main mechanisms, the most important factors affecting the reactionary ability of the initial aliphatic and aromatic substrates and determine the mechanism and the final result of transformations of this type, has been carried out in detail. Numerous examples of specific reactions of aliphatic and aromatic nucleophilic substitution and elimination are given, illustrating their wide synthetic capabilities.
