Odes: 1984–1990. Zavyalov Sergey
The book included poems by Sergey Zavyalov in the 1980s. A native of Tsarskoye Selo (1958), subsequently the author of 15 books in Russian and in translations, which now lives in Switzerland laureate of prizes Andrei Bely (2015) and Cerro Internazionale Piero Bigongiari (2016), the poet made his debut in the Leningrad Samizdat, was a member of the club-81. The special section of the book is Horace, over the translation of which Zavyalov, a classic philologist by education, has been working for 40 years. The translation is accompanied by a detailed commentary, in which, in particular, a refusal is justified of the practice that has spread in the 20th century to simulate ancient versions by means of the Russian verse in favor of the verse of the free.
