Isaac Babel is a wonderful Russian novelist of the first half of the 20th century, the author of the piercing “Konarmia” and the immortal “Odessa stories”, the literary father of the famous Beni Scream. His prose is characterized by the brightness of colors, metaphorical saturation, a picturesque image of characters and passions. The collection includes the main short stories of I. Babel. For the first time, an attempt was made on the basis of copyright instructions along with the “Odessa” to form “Petersburg” and “rural” cycles.
