This book about the need for spiritual leadership for those who wish to be on the path of salvation is especially valuable in that it is written from experience, since its author, Schihihimumen German (Gomzin), was also a student of the elders- Ischimonakh Alexander Gepsimansky and St. Theophanes of the Recluse, and- and An old man who raised many worthy students (some of them were glorified in the face of saints). Not all his advice, alas, are available to a modern weak person. But in order to follow the chosen path, he must see the guidelines. In 2000, Schigumen Herman was canonized as the local Holy Vladimir Diocese.
