On the boats "Vostok" and "peaceful" to the South Pole. First Russian Antarctic Expedition

In 1819-1821, the author led the first Russian round-the-world Antarctic expedition. During the 751 day of swimming, Antarctica was discovered - the continent -mystery, in the very existence of which many doubted, and 29 islands in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

Throughout the trip, Thaddeus Bellingshausen conducted a track diary, from which he then used to write a book about this swimming. Thanks to this, the memories of the expedition turned out to be bright, alive and detailed.
