On the digital needle. Hansen A.
In our time, mental illness is the main threat to health. A huge amount of work, ongoing stress and a digital lifestyle with constant communication and a stream of images form very unpleasant conditions for the brain. We spend a lot of time watching the tape on Instagram and Facebook, on news, films and computer games, but the human brain evolved so that it was not ready for such an amount of information, which means we are even more vulnerable to anxiety and depression.
But this does not mean that we are powerless. The more we find out how the brain works, the sooner we understand that in fact there are many ways to reduce the load on it and that many of our irrational habits actually have very understandable and logical explanations from the point of view of science.
In this book, the famous Swedish psychiatrist Anders Hansen tells what qualities helped our ancestors to survive in the dangerous ancient world, but now they interfere with life in modern society, why smartphones have become our main supplier of dopamine and what happens if this stream is covered.
