This is probably explained by the success of novels such as “Open Book” by Veniamin Kaverin, which tells the story of the life of the young scientist Tatyana Vlasenkova. Her fate is composed of paintings familiar to each girl, painted in gloomy tones with the hardships of the war years: first love, first betrayal, unrealizable dreams of home comfort and security, a long, difficult way towards her dream.

The novel “Open Book” was filmed several times. The most popular film adaptation was shot by Viktor Titov in 1977. The main role in it was played by actress Iya Savvina.
