Any fairy tale - both funny and sad - is necessarily different from real life. Opera - even more so. Firstly, its action takes place on the theater stage: palaces here are from plywood, heaven from blue silk, clouds of cotton wool. Secondly, and this is the most important difference, the main characters and other characters of the opera do not talk: they sing. And when they are sad, and when fun, and when they quarrel, and when they admit love - under any circumstances. It doesn’t happen in life.

So the opera is arranged. She does not portray life - she transforms her. She is always a fairy tale, even if real events are based on the plot.

in the opera, everything is conditional. Time too. It goes unevenly, as if stopping at the moments of the arias (this is when one person sings), duets (when two are sung) or ensembles (as the opera is called choral performance).

"Why do they sing - all and Always?" “Maybe another, who got to the opera for the first time.” The answer is simple: because in the opera performance the main thing is music. And if sometimes it is not very clear which words sound - this is not so important. After all, before going to the opera, you can read this book of fairy tales, and it will become clear: they love, enjoy, rejoice, grieve, hope, wait...

just like in real life.
