The book of the famous military historian is devoted to one of the most successful operations of the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War - the Bagration Operation, during which in the summer of 1944, three of the four armies of the Army Group Center were defeated and the main part of Belarus was liberated, Almost the entire Lithuania, part of Latvia, the eastern regions of Poland and Soviet troops reached the border of East Prussia. The author analyzes the mutual influence of the Bagration Operation and Operation Overlord, considers the ratio of the forces and means of the parties, the actions of the commanders, analyzes how events would develop in alternative decisions of the Soviet and German commands. The general conclusion is that the victory of the Red Army in the Bagration operation became an objective consequence of Soviet superiority in most parameters of warfare, while the Germans did not make any fundamental mistakes.
