The name of Charlotte Bronte, one of the most popular English writers, the author of the novel Jane Air, is known all over the world. Her literary talent manifested itself quite early. As a child, Charlotte, Emily, Ann and Branuel Bronte, the children of the parish priest, were read out by books from the home library, invented games and stories that gave rise to their further work. Young Charlotte tried her strength in different genres, in her works there is romance, adventure, and fiction, in them there is a place for the author’s irony, and polemic enthusiasm. However, over time, love becomes the main theme of Charlotte Bronte.

The real edition included her stories and the novels of 1829-1834, as well as the stories of her brother Branuella. The translator of E. Dobrokhotov-Maikov in the preface writes: “To trace step by step the development of the daring, unexpected talent that struck contemporaries and continues to amaze the descendants, already for the sake of this, Charlotte's early books deserve the most attentive reading.”
