Orthodox Encyclopedia of Health. Kuzenkov O.A.
This book is designed to promote the revival of Russian Orthodox medicine, the former traditions of the Russian people. The main attention in the book is paid to an Orthodox understanding of repentance as “changes in thinking”, a change in attitude to the world, to God and man, as the basis of healing - spiritual and physical. A person in the world is considered from the standpoint of the enormous spiritual experience of Orthodoxy. Through the prism of this experience, the use of all the healing forces of nature, traditional for Russia, is also comprehended.
Simple recipes from medicinal herbs are presented and procedures are described that can be easily mastered without the help of a doctor. The healing properties of beekeeping products and the healing capabilities of the Russian bath are described. The value of rational nutrition and fasting to combat diseases is considered. All this is combined with a complex of religious sacraments and prayers aimed at purifying and shaking the soul of a person. The correct Orthodox understanding of a healthy lifestyle is explained. The experience of practicing Orthodox doctors and phytotherapists is used.
