Osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency. Guide for doctors. Dryal A.V.
Osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency are pathological conditions that are closely related to each other, developing mainly due to impaired calcium metabolism in the body. However, in guidelines devoted to osteoporosis, the effect of hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency on the development of osteoporosis is not thoroughly described. At the same time, in the guidelines for hyperparathyroidism, which are usually written by endocrinologists, osteoporosis is considered only as one of its manifestations, and the role of vitamin D is exhausted by the inclusion of it in the regulation of calcium metabolism. In the monographs in vitamin D, in turn, osteoporosis and hyperparathyroidism are not given enough attention.
In this regard, the idea arose to write a guide for doctors treating patients with osteoporosis, so that two key factors of it development - hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D deficiency - were also represented in thoroughly, as related and almost important questions for its diagnosis and treatment.
the publication is intended for general practitioners, endocrinologists, gynecologists, traumatologists, orthopedists, rheumatologists, and also Readers interested in this spectrum of problems.
