The survivor James Hillkout is preparing by the end of the world - it is building a refuge in the basement of his London house and makes stocks. However, over time, the basement begins to seem unreliable to him, and after the disagreement with his wife, he takes the eight-year-old daughter of Peggy into an abandoned hut in the middle of a deaf forest somewhere in Germany without her knowledge. Thus begins the story of their survival. The story of the last two people on Earth, as Peggy thinks, because her father convinced her that there was no one left all over the world. Nine years later, Peggy returns home to his mother, but attempts to find out what happened in the forest leads to new riddles.
