Ours abroad: Stories. Leikin N.A.

The undoubtedly talented satirist Nikolai Aleksandrovich Leikin (1841-1906) gained popularity thanks to the work “Our abroad”, where he described the journey of the merchant couple Nikolai Ivanovich and Glafira Semenovna to Paris and back. The adventures of spouses on the road and cities, their conversations with foreigners and attempts to understand the culture of a foreign country are filled with comic moments, which captivate the reader, forcing to plunge into the narrative with their heads. Written at the end of the 19th century, the work is relevant by its theme to this day.
