Overcoat. Petersburg novels. Gogol N.V.
“St. Petersburg Tales” by Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol (1809–1852) describes the life in St. Petersburg of the 30s and 40s of the XIX century. The collection included: “Nevsky Prospekt”, “Nose”, “Portrait”, “Overcoat”, “Stroller”, “Notes of a madman”.
Heroes of “Petersburg Stories” - “little people” with low social status and without outstanding abilities. In the stories, the squalor of the morals and spirituality of the bureaucratic and secular environment is also convinced.
"Petersburg novels" reflected the identity of the literary talent of Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol. The critic V. G. Belinsky wrote: “The distinctive nature of Gogol’s novels is made up with the simplicity of fiction, the nationality, the perfect truth of life, originality and comic animation, always defeated by a deep sense of sadness and despondency. The reason for all these qualities lies in one source: G. Gogol is a poet, a poet of real life. ”
