The book explores various low -level mechanisms and algorithms that underlie modern parallel and competitive calculations, in particular, implemented in the Linux nucleus. Primitives of synchronization (mittexes and locks), data ownership, validation, copying and recording, heuristic methods for developing parallel and competitive algorithms, selection of hardware and other little -known finds in the field of parallelism are considered. Attention is also paid to simplifying and optimizing parallel calculations. Finally, the possible trends in the development of parallel programming are predicted taking into account modern developments of new hardware.
