The Necromancer of the Pencil wanders, like other images, on the pages of the “Parisian Arabesques” by Guissmans. The author balances, we see naturalistic - with a wet seller of chestnuts, bolder street women, with a dirty and exhausted fish trading - stories, and short poetic ascent to the “poems in prose” by Baudelaire. J.-K. Guissmans retained the images of the disappearing world for us, depicted the landscapes of Paris and the surroundings, in which the dank, tired look.
