People of the night. Ford J. M.
Nicholas Hansard is a young professor of history, creativity specialist Christopher Marlo. In his free time, he is engaged in scientific research for the White Group, a mysterious organization, according to Hansard, related to foreign intelligence. When his mentor Allan Berenson dies, supposedly from a heart attack, everything around begins to get out of control. The death of a colleague does not give the Hansard peace, and the historian decides to end the affairs of spies, "people of the night."
However, he is seduced by purely professional interest: the White Group instructs Hansard to conduct an examination of the recently discovered play by Marlo. Apparently, he himself was a spy and worked for Queen Elizabeth I. Hansard sincerely believes that the case of a lost play of 400 years ago will help him escape from reality... and he is mistaken.
