Peremyrka Pavel. Gorky M.

In 1894, Maxim Gorky wrote the story “Goremyk Pavel” and the stories “Old woman Izergil”, “Chelkash”, “Once in the fall”, “My companion”. These works can be found in our collection. What happened this year with Gorky? He was 26 years old. The young writer was patronized by the writer Vladimir Korolenko. Gorky lived in Nizhny Novgorod, after moving to Samara, worked and printed in different newspapers: Volgar, Volga Bulletin and Samara Gazeta. Many of the works of this year were printed only later. The story "Peremyri Pavel" was the first large work of the author and at the same time less known for the reader now. It is about the wandering of a boy abandoned by his parents, about heavy work and poverty, about first love and crimes. Many researchers noted the similarity with Dickens's images, others called the story “Boulevard”. In any case, the works of early Gorky became recognized world classics.
