A real monograph considers science fiction not only as a form of literature, but also as a phenomenon of culture and thinking. The author is trying to answer the questions: what is fantastic, how it is attractive to humans, how the existence of fantasy is predetermined by human desires and what strategies of explanation and justification of fantastic phenomena are characteristic of modern fantastic literature.
