Physical kaleidoscope
You picked up a not quite ordinary book. It can be read from any page, jump from place to place, choose only what will seem interesting. In short, twist as you want.
in a word - kaleidoscope. The role of the fragments of colored glass from which the pictures are compiled, physical concepts play here - quantities, laws, and sometimes even entire areas of physical science. At every turn of our “kaleidoscope”, the main character for a while becomes one (or several) of the concepts, others retreat into the shadow or help the “hero” to show themselves in all its glory. And the mirror records, between which patterns flicker, replace questions and tasks, sayings and miniatures, microdists and stories.
Kaleidoscope, as you know, is a toy, however, invented by a physicist - David Bruster. This toy can be fun in literally - “enjoy replacing beautiful views” or in a figurative one - “to arrange a quick change of faces and events”.
Even if our “Kaleidoscope” serves only for these purposes, the author of the book Alexander Leonovich and the editors of the journal “Quantum”, on whose pages his issues appeared for many years, will consider that they worked not in vain.
