This publication begins a series of workbooks for an independent, extracurricular development of the course “Normal Physiology” and is devoted to the physiology of excitable membranes. The dedicated topic is included in the mandatory program in the preparation of specialists in pedagogical, biological and medical universities. The textbook was created by the team of authors on the basis of many years of teaching experience at the Department of Physiology and the General Pathology of the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine and the Department of Physiology of Human and Animals of the Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. Questions and tasks in the workbook help students concentrate on working out important moments of the studied section of the course “Normal Physiology”, without losing the general logic of studying the subject, which helps to improve understanding and memorizing the material, minimizing the possibilities for unconscious copying of the text. This publication can be used by teachers to conveniently monitor homework students, as well as become a good help for students of part-time education.
