Andrei Platonov accepted the revolution immediately and without the slightest doubt. He then did everything at once: reclamation, electrical engineering, party work. And he wrote, embarrassed - because the passion for the word did not die with the advent of the revolution - he was not sure that art should disappear, he was obliged to change the "real enthusiasm of life." He limited himself, ashamed of his love for the word, as a sin. And from this, his word became especially integral, dense, material, the phrase seemed heavy and clumsy, as if thought was still born, “tried” on reality. The works of Andrei Platonov were not appreciated during the life of the writer: they were plunged by ideological criticism, most were published only after his death, including the novel “Infuture”, grotesque, before a surreal vision, showing the cruelty and meaninglessness of a totalitarian system that was not able to build A socially fair and happy society, while reflecting many of the everyday realities of the Stalin era.
