Platform: Practical application of a revolutionary business model. Moazed A., Johnson N.
What does Google, Snapchat, Tinder, Amazon and Uber have in common? All of them are platforms, representatives of a business model who has been bringing huge profits for its owners for the past 10 years. The essence of the platform is that it creates not a product, but an ecosystem, with which it is easier to open a new business, and it is more convenient to interact the seller and the buyer. The platforms captured the Internet: Facebook accounts for 25% of all visits to the global network, and Google provides almost 40% of Internet traffic. However, this scale has not yet been appreciated. The authors talk about what has changed in the structure of modern business, how it affects the work of companies and as entrepreneurs and managers to adapt and prosper in new economic conditions.
