Podolsk cadets
October 1941. After the Germans broke through the Western and Bryansk fronts, a gap was formed in the defense section from Yukhnov to Maloyaroslavets in the Soviet defense. There were only 200 kilometers of a practically non -protected Warsaw highway to Moscow. In this dangerous situation, the command of the Red Army was forced to raise the alarm of the cadets of the Podolsk artillery and Podolsk Infantry Schools and, having formed a combined detachment of 3,500 people from them, throw it to the defense of the Mozhaisk line in the Ilyinskoye village. The Nazis for a long time could not believe that their invincible armored armada managed to stop the unsettled “red junkers”, who had not yet had time to get their first officer rank... Now, after time and thanks to the publishing of the materials of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the release of the film “Podolskiyskoye cadets ”, we are aware of whom we owe that the Germans did not enter Moscow.
