Gennady Aigi (1934–2006), the world -famous poet and translator who wrote in Chuvash and Russian languages; Laureate of domestic and international awards: French Academy (1972), A. Belo (1987), F. Petrarchi (1993), “Golden Council” of the Struzky poetic evenings (Macedonia, 1993) B. Pasternak (2000, first laureate), etc.. People's Poet of the Chuvash Republic (1994).
