Gennady Aigi (1934–2006), the world -famous poet and translator who wrote in Chuvash and Russian languages; Laureate of domestic and international awards: French Academy (1972), A. Belo (1987), F. Petrarchi (1993), “Golden Council” of the Struzky poetic evenings (Macedonia, 1993) B. Pasternak (2000, first laureate), etc.. People's Poet of the Chuvash Republic (1994). Repeatedly nominated for the Nobel Prize. The present commented publication of selected works includes poems of 1954–2003, the book “Black - Singing” (variations on the themes of folk songs of the Volga region), “The World of Sylvia” and articles about the cult figures of the Russian avant -garde: V.
