Jules Lafors (1860-1887), the predecessor of symbolism, “French Heine”, “Hamlet without a sword”-an early dead writer, a poet who created a unique literary world, entirely new and unexpected. “It was a poet rich in all the conquests of culture... a natural genius woven from sensitivity, irony, fantasy and clairvoyance... Genius, full of colors and light,” a contemporary wrote about him.
