Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin (1799-1837)-great poet, playwright and prose writer. His immense creative heritage made an invaluable contribution to the development of world literature and culture. However, it is believed that it was in poetry that the Pushkin genius, values and ideals of the poet most clearly reflected.
Pushkin is often called “the Sun of Russian Poetry”: thanks to his work, Russian poetry was enriched and reached a new level. The critic Vissarion Grigoryevich Belinsky wrote: “Pushkin was called to be the first poet-artist of Rus', to give her poetry as art, as art.”
The collection includes the main poetic works of Alexander Pushkin, the study of which is included in the compulsory school curriculum. This is a civilian and love lyrics, poems (Caucasian captive, Bakhchisarai Fountain, Copper Horseman and others) and a cycle of plays “Little Tragedies”.
