Poisoned lands: Roman. Zvontsova E.
Austria, 1755. Empress Maria Teresa fights for the life of subjects to become more prosper and safer, and the light of science and justice reaches each corner of the country. But the lands of the Habsburgs are enormous: riots do not subside somewhere, and somewhere legends come to life and the night itself carries fear. When strange deaths begin in the remote province, in which local residents blame vampires, the Empress sends an investigation into Gerard Van Sviten - a doctor, a brilliant scientist and opponent of occultism. Both Maria Teresa and the doctor are skeptical and consider what is happening only a consequence of superstitions and political intrigues. But when Van Svits understands that he actually lurked in the Moravia mountains, sound explanations will no longer be so unambiguous. Not just in a small town, even a chapel is bleeding, and people sometimes do not know what is better, life or death.
