Book A.N. Medushevsky is devoted to the problem of the correlation of the legal tradition and power policy in the context of social transformations. From the standpoint of cognitive theory, comparative law and constitutional engineering, the author finds out the ratio of law and legal awareness in transitional societies, shows the formation of a liberal paradigm in the political philosophy of the new and modern times, represents the main provisions of the theory of constitutional cycles and reveals the logic of transitional processes from authoritarianism to democracy. He analyzes the dynamics of the Russian political process in history and modernity, reveals the urgent problems of post -Soviet constitutional development. The author puts forward his own vision of the rational resolution of the conflict of law and justice, legitimacy and legality, norms and reality, political mind and social ideal. Not limited to criticism of the contradictions and imbalances of modern political and legal development, he offers a reasonable and reasoned concept of overcoming their constitutional transformations within the framework of the liberal program.
