After the defeat of the anti -Russian uprising in the Kingdom of Poland, many leaders of nationalist emigration moved to Paris. There, like -minded Professor Lelevel prepares a new uprising that finances and sends the English embassy in France. However, the assistant to the chairman of the Polish National Committee, Tseshkovsky, suspect that among the committee employees there is an agent of Russian intelligence, trying to find out “who is who” in the intricacies of military and political intrigues directed against Russia.
