Dickens won the unfading glory when he was only twenty -four years old, writing his first novel “Posthumous Notes of the Pickwick Club”. The unbridled merry of the Dickent work is called upon to affirm the thought of the novelist that the triumph of good, healthy, honest over everything low, evil, perverted inevitably. The magnificent illustrations of Jacques Carcass, reproduced by the 1937 edition, released by a circulation of 1,500 copies and became a bibliographic rarity, fully correspond to the comic spirit of the novel.
