Jane Osten (1775-1817)-an English writer, author of the so-called moral novels, she is considered to be a survey of realism in British literature. Simple in the plot, the ironic novels of Osten have not lost popularity and are obligatory for studying at all colleges and universities of Great Britain, and Osten itself is still rightfully considered the “first lady” of English literature. Jane was born in the family of a priest, a man of diversely educated, who managed to instill in children a love of reading and literature. Jane had six brothers and sister, with whom she was especially close to her life. Osten published all the works anonymously.
“Pride and Prejudice”, one of the most famous English novels, was first called “The First Impressions”. It was written in 1796-1797. but rejected by the publisher. Years later, when her other novel “Feeling and Sensitivity” won the love of readers, Osten processed the old manuscript and published in 1813 this is a story about how sisters from an impoverished noble family try to find profitable parties for marriage, a story about love and calculation, prudence and recklessness, pride and prejudice...
