Prince Charles-Joseph de Lin. Correspondence with Russian correspondents

Prince Charles-Joseph de Lin (1735-1814), a military leader, a diplomat and writer, was famous as a witty and deep interlocutor, the personification of the XVIII gallant. He knew with monarchs and philosophers, writers and adventurers and did not ignore the beautiful ladies. Prince de Lin met with the Russians in Europe, twice came to Russia, traveled around the country, participated in the war with the Turks. The book included his correspondence with Catherine II, her favorites and associates, with G. Potemkin and Zubov brothers, with Field Marshals A. Suvorov and P. Rumyantsev, diplomats A. Razumovsky and A. Beloselsky-Belozersky, writers 3. Volkonskaya and Yu. Krudener, love and friendly messages to E. Dolgoruok and S. Uvarov. Printing his letters during his lifetime, Prince de Lin redid, rewritten them, composed new ones retroactively.
