Princess Tarakanova. Burned Moscow. Danilevsky G.P.
The action of the novel "Princess Tarakanov" begins in the winter of 1775. A young aristocrat appears in Europe, calling herself the daughter of Empress Elizabeth from her secret marriage with the favorite of Alexei Razumovsky. Princess Tarakanova declares his rights to the Russian throne and tries to enlist the support of European monarchs and influential Russian nobles, including the powerful Count of Orlov. The princess does not even suspect that Ekaterina's sovereign had already ordered the count to the count to the “adventurer” and deliver to Petersburg to the count.
The novel “Burned Moscow” tells about the most difficult days of the Patriotic War of 1812, when, shortly after the battle of Borodino, Field Marshal Kutuzov decides to pass the former capital of the Russian state to the French. Napoleon’s troops occupy Moscow, believing that they won the war. However, the city left by the Russian troops very quickly turns for its invaders into a real hell.
