This book is the first volume of the monumental labor of Professor I.V. Popova “Personality and Teaching of Blessed Augustine”, defended as a doctoral dissertation at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy. Labor I.V. Popova was awarded the Prize of Metropolitan Makarii and, according to the recall of the rector of the Moscow Theological Academy of Professor A.P. Orlova, "far exceeds by thoroughness all the experiments of the spiritual personality of Augustine in both the translated and original literature." Labor has not lost its meaning even today.
