Psalter of the Prophet and King David

Psalter is one of the books that are part of the Bible. Most psalms in it are written by the Holy Tsar and the Prophet David. In them, he appealed to God, repented in his sins, praised the greatness of God and predicted the coming of Christ to the earth, as well as the suffering that he had to endure for our salvation. The psalter consists of 150 songs (psalms).

The Greek and Slavic psalter contains 151 songs, including a psalm dedicated to the psalmist David and describes his life. The word "psalter" comes from the name of a musical string instrument, to the sound of which still in the Old Testament worship was performed by singing psalms.
