The monograph contains a theoretical consideration of the problem of psycholinguistic mechanisms of speech generation and the generalization of numerous experimental data in this area. For the first time, a holistic description of speech processes is given in the book from the standpoint of the psychological school L. S. Vygotsky. The author considers the concept of a unit in linguistics and psycholinguistics, analyzes various psycholinguistic models of generation of statements, covers the problem of organizing speech activity and touches on issues related to various levels of its awareness. The book contains five chapters, each of which is essentially an independent study.
