Walter Lippman (1889-1974)-American writer, journalist, propagandist and sociologist, one of the creators of modern American liberalism, two-time Pulitzer Prize laureate. He took an active part in the election campaign of the American President Woodrow Wilson and in the development of Fourteen points - the American program of the post -war development of the world. During the First World War, he dealt with propaganda issues and wrote a countless number of leaflets and articles, but was later removed by Wilson from work due to ideological disagreements. The idea of Lippman that propaganda should not be so much a victory as the foundations of a fair post -war world was declared unacceptable.
