The story “The punishers” (1981) represents the artistic and documentary drama about the inhuman, bestial essence of the philosophy of fascism. In the center of events - the actions of the SS battalion of the Nazi punisher Dirlewanger in the territory of the occupied Belarus in 1941-1944, including the "Interview Action", held on June 15, 1942 in the village of Borki of the Kirovsky district of the Mogilev region, as a result of which it was destroyed together with all its inhabitants. The author is trying to figure out the motivation of the main characters. The work is based on documents, many characters have real prototypes.
