The work attempted a comprehensive analysis of problems of theory, legislation and practice of applying punishments that are not related to isolation from society. At the same time, special attention is paid to the cornerstone issues of both general scientific and methodological significance in the criminal law of Russia: criminal liability and responsibility in criminal law, punishment as a form of implementation of criminal liability, etc. The central place in the study is occupied by the problems of determining the circle of these punishments, legal nature, characteristics and their application, responsibility for evasion, release from punishment. A comparative characteristic of the types of punishments that are not related to isolation from the Company, according to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and the criminal legislation of a number of foreign countries.
