Pushkin in life. Veresaev V.V.
In front of you is not another bibliographic reference book, or a brief biography of the poet, no, something unusual awaits you - a meeting with a “lively” book about the living Pushkin. The way we could not imagine him: how he looked, how he studied, what he thought and dreamed about, about his friends and enemies. This is the narrative, first of all, about Pushkin-House and only then about the great Pushkin-poet. Its appearance is recreated according to the memoirs of his contemporaries and historical documents. The reader recognized the main thing: how Pushkin’s life leakable, how he looked, what some contemporaries and descendants thought of him. There was very little all this, it was truly collected the most necessary, but on a small example it is clear that it was possible to make Veresaev in the development of this idea. With his vast installation, he achieved portractions. Here, as V. Veresaev himself wrote about this: “For a number of years, I made for myself the primary sources of extracts concerning the character of Pushkin, his moods, habits, appearance, etc. As the extracts accumulated, I brought them into a systematic order. And once, reviewing the accumulated extracts, I suddenly saw that in front of me is the original and fascinating book, in which Pushkin got up completely as alive... ”V. Veresaev
The first publication of this book (1926–1927) Sharp discussions in: Pushkin, represented by Veresaev, did not fit into previously accepted standards. Nevertheless, the book turned out to be very in demand: it has been repeatedly reprinted and still, almost a hundred years after its appearance, has not lost its relevance.
