Pushkin’s dictionary and the evolution of Russian language ability. Karaulov Yu.N.

The book is built as a description of the experiment to read the modern literary and artistic text using the “Dictionary of the Language of A. S. Pushkin”, that is, the eyes of the reader of the first third of the nineteenth century: Pushkin reads Makanin. The main part of the work was a commented dictionary, which retrospectively reflects the grammatical, semantic and word -formation evolution of words and expressions of the Russian language for one and a half centuries. Experimental data make it possible to make a number of new observations on the life of words and their changes in connection with the development of culture, the growth of scientific knowledge, the formation of a new “picture of the world”.
